View attachment 4908View attachment 4907View attachment 4906View attachment 4905View attachment 4904 Just getting back into painting and Warhammer 40k after 8 years. I started painting a Evil Sunz themed army and wanted some feed back on the scheme. I just trying to paint theme for high quality table top standard. Im not sure about others but i seem to be my own worse critic. All I can ever do is pick out the flaws in my own work so I thought id ask others for there opinions so maybe i can get some stuff painted. Im still working on the other arm with muzzle flash. Any helpful ideas would be greatly apreciated.

They look good! not sure about the grey rim on the base tho, someting less setrile in colour, but still remains neutral like Charadon Granite.

I wonder if your not going to lose the pilot do too the reds being so close in hue, maybe a brown/ black leather jacket with the flame job would be the way to go? Other then that, looking good. Keep it up.

i think they look great, you could always add some darker tones into the mix and some metallic parts. Also some battle damage always makes stuff look more orky

Thanks for some of the advice and comments. I did take the advice on the bases. I actually would of used that shade of grey but alias none to be had here so i opted on black instead. Me and my wife both thought afterwards the darker color on the base made the model pop more. I also agree after looking at the ork on the copter to go for black or maybe a dirty yellow. Im new to weathering and tend to rework, rework, rework, rework ah you get the point. Anyways rework the models so much i ruin them and am trying to break the habit after my long break.

Here is the finished model without the muzzle flash although the more i look at him he seems abit clean on his clothing. Im afraid ill ruin him if i try weathering on the to much maybe the next model. The one picture has razor wire on it any opinions on to put it on or not would be helpful. Of coarse id be painting and weathering it.

Couldnt get the picture up at first sorry. The other thing i notice is with my bad camera exp there are sutle details you just dont see plus with the varnish. One question i do have is what varnish do people use to get the really dull look? I use 2 coats of satin(krylon) and then go over it with velspar matt finish.
