This is a great site for Optical Illusions. They even have an illusion of the day widget for your desktop and a facebook app for illusion of the day.

I found the spinning dancer rather fascinating, myself. If I just looked at it, it rotated one way, and if I tried to think about it, it rotated the other way.

Both at once would be very disorienting, I suspect.

I liked the one with the line and the ruler, best, myself. I came very very close to the middle. My spatial awareness is pretty good.

Some of those are good. I don\'t get the dancer one though - can\'t see it as anything other than clockwise.

I like Purveslab for optical illusions and the science behind them, although Michael Bach\'s site is good too.

the one with the lady in silhouette kept moving in different directions while i was looking at it. it would change every 2 or 3 revolutions from clockwise to counterclockwise.

Not really. Creative people often switch back and forth between hemispheres on a frequent basis. I\'d guess that\'s why you\'re good at this hobby.

i think it must change after a set period of time, after a while of staring all i could see was wazs her moving anticlockwise but when i went back she was moving clockwise for a couple of seconds then moved back.

edit: you can see her move in different directions whenever her right arm is out of sight.

I find the foot of the straight-down leg helpful when I try to make her change direction. When the toes point at the viewer (or away, as it were), you can \"reset\" the movement in a way. Hard to explain, I know, but it works for me.
