Order of the Stick: Main Cast Scratchbuild

This is the fist set of scratchbuilt mini\'s I\'ve ever made. I love Order of the Stick, and thought that the characters would be fun and challenging to turn into minis, and I was right! I learned a lot about sculpting and scratchbuilding from this project; knowledge that will help me out a lot as I work on new scratchbuilds and conversions.

The bases are very plain by design. These are the characters as they appear during the Dungeon of Dorukon plotline. Rich (the comic\'s creator) generally used that color brown for his floors, so I kept to the same design.

You can see the WIP for these minis over at the Giant in the Playground forums

Very cool.

This has me tempted to try to do the same and then one D&D session use all stick minis for the entire module. Maybe do it for an RPGA convention game. I think that would get a ton of laughs.

It would be pretty easy to do- I can\'t remember if these are 28mm or 32mm... but either way it\'s easy to build a basic body using styrene tube for torsos, rods for arms/hands/legs, and appropriately sized beads for the heads.

I list the meterial specifications in the worklog, if you\'re interested.

That is AWESOME! Sculpt, sculpt, sculpt the cool minis! (Not that you need it! :p)

(OoTS is very suspenseful right now too - can\'t wait for the next update.)

I\'m going to scratchbuild Team Evil - Xykon, Red Cloak, and the Monster in the Darkness, but I won\'t be starting them for another few weeks at least. I\'ve got a commission I have to finish first... Heck, I have to start the commission first:p

Originally I was thinking of sculpting MiTD with his Hello Kitty umbrella, but after thinking about it my whole design scheme for these minis is for the Dungeon of Dorukon storyline, so I decided to do him as a diorama- I\'ll build a corner of the dungeon where he can lurk in the shadows.

Great job with these.
