I did this up for a challenge over on WAMP. The theme was "Big Choppa" and I used this guy. The head was from MaxMini and was pretty cool. Didn't fit great, and the back of the head had some casting problems but the coolness still makes them worth it. Anyway, fire away any crits please! TY!

that choppa looks great, amigo...
really like the skin as well...

there are a few spots where i would have put more dark-lining, such as the wrists, waist, pant threads, and where the shoulder plates sit on the vest, but that is more a question of personal taste...
the nails seem to be the roughest part of this guy, especially the thumbs...

you keep on getting better:)...

cheers

TY guys!

Jah, fair points. Especially the nails. They look pretty sloppy. Darklining! I have to get that into my system again. I quit doing it about three years ago because when I painted strictly for tabletop I blacklined the hell out of everything. Looked OK at three feet+ of distance but once I started looking on the net and payed close attention to what I was really accomplishing I decided it had to go. Now I gotta bring it back in moderation. That'll be tough! Will do though. Thanks again!

feel little bit anguish evey time i see these greenskins lol. the head is far cooler than gw's new ones (like the old metal ones muchmuch more).
think youve done a good job; smooth blending and the green skin is awesome. i do however miss some weathering, he look like he just had a bath ;)

no worries, bro...

that's why i called it dark-lining instead of black-lining...
i've been fighting a losing battle with my camera that has actually taught a few good lessons in this area...
the camera makes lining with colors like Sanguine Base ( a maroon), and Greatcoat Grey (not even a very dark Grey) look like blacklining...
obviously i can go even lighter, and still get the definition i'm after...

keep up the good work...

cheers

Nice painting, smooth colour transitions, maybe one more highlight on the pants could be good.
It looks so good with this head.

Nice one Scott.
Like a few others I think the Pants and undershirt could do with a touch of extra both in terms of sahdows and highlighths, but as for the rest...........SPOT ON.

Thaks for the encouragement guys! Very much obliged. I try not to pat myself on the back too hard but I was just reminded of the last paint job I did before checking out here and other places on the net to start improving. It's been about 2 years since I signed up here and the difference between now and then is pretty staggering. I want to find that pic now!
