Ork Warboss with looted Tau railgun - feedback requested

Just finished this baby in time for a competition tomorrow... been working on him on and off for about three months now...

It\'s been up ten minutes and someone\'s already sniped it and voted it a 1.

I\'ve already been told that snipes get removed when the votes pass 50... but do the mods actually monitor people\'s voting and kick out people who spend their time sniping?

If not... maybe it should be looked at...

I\'m begining to loose my faith in CMON as an impartial forum to get feedback on painting minis... every mini I\'ve put up in the last few months has been sniped.


Suggestions? (other than ignore it :)

Great work mate. I love the idea of the looted tua stuff. Too bad someone sniped you but it will disappear when you hit 50. Your score should level out anyway. No hint on how to improve cause is great how it is.

forget about the scores mate, it\'s the wrong road to go down.

use cmon for advice and as a learning tool.

it\'s a realy nice paint job and cool conversion as well, nice one:)

Not so fond of when you get close to the mini, the red becomes pink :) But the paint job is superb and the conversion is Orkish to the point!

The colour of the rail gun looks a little off to me.
(still a 8.5ish model in my opinion)

As to the snipers, while I can understand a bit of frustration personnally I think it\'s an overreaction to bitch about CMON because of it. As has been said the programme will sort it out. On top of that there are thousands of people involved in this site everyday. To judge everyone because of what a very very small minority do is pretty slack really.

This implies to me that you\'ve posted it up as a high score. I\'d suggest that you allow CMON to post the mini as the average and let your scores build up, it\'s far less demoralising than having some one visibly knock down your hard work.

Besides as a few people have already commented it\'s not scores that really matter but comments those are worth a great deal more than points as you can learn and work from other peoples suggestions.

Great idea, and well-executed.
I like the weathering, and tonally the painting is excellent. Solid neat job. I don\'t like the yellow coiling wire at all though; it looks like unpainted shiny plastic, completely not in keeping with the rest of the mini. Nice idea of putting the battlesuit head on a spike, but the weathering round the hole needs work. And don\'t worry about snipers :innocent:

The only thing I dont agree with is the colour on the railgun.
Maybe those orks spent some time in colouring the gun with their colors, or added their waagh symbol.
Maybe some scratches under wich you see the originale colours.

I did actually think about having the railgun painted up in \'orky\' colours... but wanted a clear and obvious difference between the ork technology and the Tau technology...

Just as an aside... this model won first place in 40K single miniature in the competition it was painted up for yesterday.... which made the 80 hours+ work all worth it!

I like it, and the railgin looks fine IMO, very little looks out of place on an ork loota, a great paintjob, well done on 1st place. I gave it a 9.

I think maybe have the Tau symbols painted over or scratched out?

I also don\'t like the yellow coiled wire - but the rest is ace :)

I have a suspicion about scoring. I think it dumps the score you start it at.
In other words, if you start it with a 10 and someone comes along and votes it an 8, the average will be an 8, which would lead you to think it got a 6.

just a theory, but it\'s mine.

great looking model and congrats to the prize.

snipers suck everybody knows it.
the thing is that they can snipe and not leave any criticism whatsoever in the from of a comment.

I\'m not so keen on the sci-fi stuff, personally I like the fantasy categories better, but I still would have to say that you did a wonderful job on that one. Don\'t worry about the snipers, I have a feeling that they\'re equal opportunity opposers, so it all evens out in the end. Congrats on first place!
