I\'m building some sort of sculpting portfolio, and the current project is an Ork Nob!

I\'m about to be embarked in my own WAAAAAAGH!

awesome! certainly the best of the three youve posted so far. did you create the jaw seperately from the rest of the mini and then glue it on?

I sculpted the jaw in the miniature... I don\'t use glue since it\'s not recommended if you want to do a mould... so I prefer to do things right to not get spoiled when I actually sculpt a model to be cast

My two cooper:
BrotherTellos I think has it right, the upper arm (models left) is abit weedy around the top next to the bend in the elbow. There should, I think, be a little more meat added there (fold in the skin/mussle bunching).
Left hand; if you are (and it looks like it to me) adding a pistol to that hand, the fingers should not be as closed as it looks. IE middle finger ending inline with the knuckle line of the hand. Remeber the handgrip of any weapon will shorten the lenght/ curl of the fingers. Also the fingers look to round between the joints (this is me again)
and lastly More Rivets!!! As any Ork player knows more is better. or so I\'m told
This is looking to be a very nice sculpt, please keep it up.

That really depends on who your caster is. If they know how to make master molds from fimo sculpts (or other putties that don\'t withstand the vulcanisation process), then you can use glue, have more undercuts, ... etc.

Did you do something to that arm/elbow? If you did it looks quite nice, and hard to tell the adjustment.
Thank you for adding the rivets, not to many, and not just a couple. I think that you hit it just right, dead hard and what nots.
The boots still look to small in the toes (IHO) perhaps that\'s why he\'s in a mood.
And I just notated the trailing foot is in a odd position to the body. Maybe a rotation of say 50 degrees to the outside is in order.
All said and done, this is shaping up to be quite a nice sculpt. Keep it up.

LOL I thought he was the Harry Potter of Orks... was planning to give him glasses, but now I can picture him as conducting the Ork band... maybe is time to redo those rocker Orks from the past

I did something with the arm-elbow... the whole idea to post is to get some fresh eyes to see what I no longer can \'cause I\'m too close watching the miniature and for too long

The rivets were a must, but I ussually wait until I can do them all in one sitting.

I\'m not too comfortable with the feet too, but I will keep them for a while... I think I will turn him into a cybork and then I might chop the offending foot.

now that\'s very cool! he doesn\'t have the bandied legs with the wide apart knees of the gw orks, but that isn\'t to put it down, it\'s just different - I love it!

brilliant, what do you use for muscle reference?

Not that it really matters all that much, but I just realized y the right bicep looks a little off. If the arm is extended the bicep elongates in kind and remember it comes out from under the inner shoulder and chest. His bicep just kinda is sitting on his mid right arm and isnt attached at the top. Right now its knotted like hes got his arm flexed at a 90 degree angle. Like i said its not a prob really as it doesnt detract from the aesthetics of the mini but for nerds like me (I am into bodybuilding) its hard to miss.

Keep it up, this is my fav sculpt of your thus far.

hmm... I need to fix that arm, you are right...

I use myself as reference (yeah right :drunk: ), I just go with instinct, after all I\'ve spent last 15 years of my life collecting and drawing comic books and tinkering with miniatures about the same time...

I really like Ian Churchill for muscle reference, specially when he was doing Cable, it was so over the top with muscles that you can actually decide what to put and what to leave out.
