orky goodness wip by uber update #7 11/21/08(now with nob action!)

many of you may have wondered what happened to me posting pics of my work, and i honestly havent felt like posting much over the past 6 months..... but a month ago i felt the urge to paint an army. i eventually settled on orks and a speed freeks army. i just finished painting 40 ork boys and am starting on the choppers right now. i have started my first conversion as well and will post pics tonight....i will show you a pic of what i am working on right now though. here is a preliminary design for my kopta... i know its blue but it will be red later on.

i also plan on putting a buzzsaw on as well and twin linked rokkit launchas.

well i finished my first major conversion and i have to say.....

I FLIPPIN\' LOVE PLASTICARD!!!

although my thumbs dont.

hehe.

let me know what you think. and yes i know the saw is lower than the skids....but hey the best way for an ork to land is by kareening into the ground.

so\'s i got my second one done. this time i just started cuttin the crap out of plasticard and got this. i really love the mouth on this ....and the jaws will \"count as\" a buzzsaw.... i can just imagine em\' snapping really fast. of course inside the mouth are the rokkit launchas which i see poppin out in between eatin some stupid imperial guard or the eldar. cant wait to start my third one

on a side note, i managed to cut my finger wif\' a pair of blunt scissors.... guess i\'m on my way to bein\' an ork!

Uber i don´t have much time due to college, let me just say , you geting better and better.
liked the first one but this one i love :beer:

have you already decided how to paint them ? i think a rusted and corroded bad moons colour scheme would work great.

also if you going to do a third one (you need three for a unit , right ?) , have yrou thought about doing one with 2 big rotors and the pilot sitting in the middle between them ?

thanks for the comments man. i plan on painting them with evil sunz cause the rest are a bunch of panzees. hehe. as for the idea of the blades on both sides i have thought of that, but i think i will be cutting the top off of the third and repositioning it behind complete with a BIG engine to push it forward.

more updates tommorrow.

so i got the last one done and am pretty happy with it, i took the advice of you guys and added some stuff to the buzzsaw as well. i noticed as i went that the koptas kept gettin\' bigguh and pointia\' i see no problem with that. hehehe. i plan on using the jaws as \"counts as\" buzzsaws. i have not added any pistons as of yet, mainly because i have a huge plasticard order in and am waiting on them. i plan on beginnin\' the paintin process this evening.

ok... getting ready to paint these puppies, and am using red, but not too sure how to get the look i am going for. i dont want the things coated in red, but to have it share a main color with black and gray with a side bit of some gold colors. any ideas on how to paint these three would be great. thanks

It\'s orky! Everywhere!
Cuz red makes it go fasta! :p

All orky fashioned surfaces that aren\'t bare metal - scavenged/salvaged pieces and armour do bare metal or random

Checks, zigzags, fire :)
Think \"Pimp my ride\" for someone with even less taste :D

finally got me some paint on im\'

finally got some paint slapped on one of these and am pretty darn chuffed about what is happening with the piece so far. the reds and rust are coming along nicely and i am loving the metals. still need to add more details but should be done with this one sometime next week. it is the biggest so its taken around 10 hours thus far.

man i paint slow lol

thanks for the kudos guys.

now does anybody have any advice on them... things you like and dont like, on the waaagh they mentioned breaking up the red with some black. since gthen i have added black and white checks on the wings. any other ideas to use on the other ones would be great too.
