For myself, I\'ve always considered piercings or getting a tat, but I never have. Main reason is that I used to do a lot of acting, and some of those are a pain to cover up if you\'re doing a period piece. One actor friend of mine tried to cover up his tattoo with make-up while we were doing A Midsummer Night\'s Dream, but he only really succeeded in looking like he was badly burnt. Now that I don\'t do acting anymore, I\'ve considered getting a tattoo, but have been spending my money on other things.

As for hiding tats - use scar make up - a lighter colour than your skin first, then a close skin match on top. Its very good at hiding stuff, can be used to hide port stains and everything

Scar make-up huh? I think the lighter part is where my friend went wrong. He\'s pretty pale anyway, and I\'m not sure if he had anything in his make-up kit that was significantly lighter than his skin.

@ leopardpixie - The piercing any better yet?

If he didn\'t have a very light colour make up, he could use a large plaster or dressing and colour that down to skin colour with some make up
