P3 Blighted gold

Hi all! I\'m about to use this colour on a model, and I\'m not sure what\'s best to use for shading and highlighting it. Any suggestions would be gratefully received! Thanks! :)

Shade with a blueish green, adding more and more black. Highlight by adding Mithril Silver to the gold.

P3 Blighted Gold is a great color in my opinion giving a very old gold look. I find P3 metallics a bit grainy (but usable) so I would suggest adding a metallic color with finer pigments (like GW Mithril Silver) for the highlights to get a smoother finish.

Okey doke! That\'s handy, bue/green fits nicely with the colour scheme that\'s developed (and was what I was going to use should no-one reply, which looked likely). I agree with your assessment of P3 metallics, but I have a couple kicking around and I hate to waste paint.

Try using the Citadel Washes if you have them. Their effectiveness over metallics is great. A mix of Thraka Green and Asurman Blue should give you a good blue/green color to work with, though I think a purple for shading would work nicely too. (Gold does not really oxidize, but none of us pay attention to that anyway lol myself included).

Alas, I don\'t have any Citadel washes, but I can see that I should invest in some. I was going to keep her for Wyrd\'s Femme Fatale competition, which I sense is looming, but I\'m not sure she\'s quite competition standard, so I\'ll post some pics of what I\'ve done so far. Re \"oxidised\" gold: Yeah I know! Daft, innit? :p Still, I suppose you could blame some of it on dirt...

Edit: Here we go. I\'ve highlighted the metal, still need to plonk some shading on it.

Edit 2: I\'ve posted this in the wip forum now, comments there would probably be best. Thanks!
