P3 Paints

I know there have been useful discussions re the quality of the new P3 paints.

Can someone provide me link(s) for CMON forum or other ?

Most of the threads that mention P3 paints are part of threads about the GW foundation paints.

If you do a Search of Foundation paints you should find about 3 threads.

As for the P3 paints themselves, I picked up three of the 6 packs about 4 weeks back and I love them. I plan on picking up a complete set as they are released.

The increased pigmentation is amazing and really does allow you to coat quicker without ubscuring details.

I know it\'s a no-no by profesional painters, but I find they also work great our of the pot, not requiring much watering down.

When you do water them down they flow better then any other paints I have used, leaving no \'rings\' when used as washes.

My one complaint about them so far though is the colour selection. It\'s a bit annoying to get both a base and a highlight for every colour. Sure it\'s quicker, but I find mixing highlights isn\'t something that takes very long. Plus I found the highlights not quite bright enough so I am still mixing for highlights, so really in the boxed sets at least you get some \'useless\' paints.

Compaired to the Foundation paints from GW I find these flow better and definately mix better with themselves and other paints. They don\'t coat quite as well as foundation, but they are still way up there on coverage.

They are lush! IMO better than the Citadel foundations.

Im currently building up the entire range, I have 4 box\'s now and hoping to get the lot.

Painting red is a complete bastard..only yellow is more difficult IMO but the P3 paints have certainly made it a lot easier on my Khador figures..

From what I could actually see in that video, the P3\'s cover really well. Looks like 2 coats would get a solid coverage over black, too. Whoever had that camera going needs to learn when and how to use the zoom/focus

I\'ve been contemplating which paints to buy... P3 or Foundation. What\'s holding me back is having to convince the wife that it\'s an investment, and I\'ll be able to paint quicker, hence spending more time with her and our new baby Wish me luck!

Have to agree as well, only messed around with them a little but seem to be very smooth and have great coverage and thin very well. Got the same colour set from P3, GW and Vallejo (or as near as I could get them) to try out on three of the same model to see how the results come out, hoping that will set it in stone for me.

I\'ve always thought paint choice comes down to it matching your style rather than sheer quality of one brand over another mind you given there aren\'t massive differences. But P3 seem well up there at least.
