Anyone seen this? I would love to get my hands on some kaiju minis :).... Does anyone know if there will be a line based on this film or resin kits or anything? :)

Industry "experts" here in the US were expecting it to bomb big time. It has 4 stars on IMDB and 3.5 on rotten tomatoes. As much as I would like to see this in the theater, I think I will wait until it is out for rental, as ticket prices suck royally. I took the kids to Despicable Me 2 last weekend and spent almost $50 just for the tickets. That was Matinee price.

Christ man!! I though the US was supposed to be cheap for stuff like this. In the UK at a big chain cinema you can expect a ticket price of about £8. More for 3D and vip seat etc. Its only a little cheaper if you go early throughout the day by about a £1. I only went to the cinema once over your side of the pond, in Vegas. All I remember is the awesome popcorn options and having sauces on taps!!

From the look of all the trailers, it looks like I will prefer this movie back in the 90's... when it was Neon Genesis Evangelion......Seriously, where is Rey? :p

As for ticket prices, this is why I go to $5 Tuesday showings at my local theater- but with school out for everyone, the last one I went to (Man O' Steel) was packed! If anything it's the concessions that will get you. $6.50 for a SMALL popcorn!! They have a bucket you can endlessly refill- but it's $18.50 to buy, then $3.50 for each refill.. And it only works for the calendar year, so even if I thought that was a good idea, it wouldn't be a good idea to get it now that the year is half over.

As for kits, you never know- I've seen kits for the monster in "The Relic" and that's been in somewhat obscurity.

I loved the movie - the kaiju designs were pretty disappointing, I thought, but the mecha ... wow!

Nothing quite like giant stompy robots bashing it out with giant stompy monsters.

Gah! Heroclix! Man I hate those... even though I have 2 "limited edition" hulks somewhere still in package because I hoped the value would go up.. Plastic pre painted minis are just not worth it though. Kudos to Simon Lee being able to sculpt that much without seeing the movie!
Edit.. Just found this.. only diehard MLP youtubers will get reference:
