I don\'t know what is going on, but I have just been sent an email offering me a \'second chance\' to buy the PA Army. As I was 15th in the list of bidders I find this very strange. I am hoping that it is some scammer trying to get his hands on my money and not that the first 14 bidders have pulled out???

Copy it to Ebay security section they report all this kinds of crap to the appropriate authorities.

thats where they told me to send all the carp that I get sent every day tring to scam my info.
I hope they catch them and theres a small room with iron bars invalved.

The spam and phishing has gotten really bad of late with Ebay as I\'ve gotten five or six of them over the last six months or so, some of them looking DAMN realistic. I\'ve reported all of them, but even I almost got taken in by one of them until my \'crook\' filter went off.

This one looked very authentic. Contained all the right links etc. Even had a link to eBay\'s \'spoof email\' page
The only things that gave it away (apart from the scenario) was that it originated from a YAHOO address and didn\'t have a \'buy\' button.

I think it is spam I never recieved an e-mail myself though I cannot remember where I was placed in the bidding. Most strange.

I get theses all the time after awhile you learn what is a spoof. The phuckers that send these out should be castrated.

A good way to tell spam is to get the header information and as vike noticed it was a yahoo address. I bay never gives links in an email and they always use your name. I report stuff all the time but this is the fact it was a high dollar item. I posted in the paint aid thread about the final sale information in the auction thread. Got all the info there last week.
best to just keep turning them in then block the crap then you do not get a repeat from that address, It has cut a lot out for me .
