Paint Aid and the fun begins

Good Luck Tidoco and others....

Thanks to Tidoco, I am out of the game.
$1,500 was my cap. I am now waiting for final outcome for my 10% \"match\" to the cause.

Best of luck all.

My guess is that this ultimately auction for $8,000 or more.

Don\'t be surprised if GW \"themselves\" jumps in. What could POSSIBLY be better use of the money ?
It\'s tax deductible, it\'s great public relations and it\'s a kick ass army for display at their headquarters, representing some of the finest painters around. They would be crazy not to......

If I ran GW, I would make it happen at any auction price. The best advrtising dollars they will ever spend.

If they don\'t do that. they should follow someone\'s good example and match a % of the auction price as a public relations move.

One man\'s opinion....

Games Workshop aid Tsunami Crisis

The Indian Ocean Tsunami disaster has triggered a global out-pouring of relief and Games Workshop is doing its part to help support the victims and survivors of this tragedy.

As an example of how the disaster has touched so many people across the globe a group of like-minded miniature painters and modellers have got together to raise money by painting a 3000pts Ogre Kingdoms army. Among the talented painters and modellers several Golden Daemon ‘Slayer Sword’ winners have donated there free time to the project.

What promises to be a spectacular army when it’s finished, the army will be auctioned on e-bay through the Mission Fish Non-profit Organization and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross, but not before Games Workshop has doubled the amount raised by the e-bay auction.

I am hoping that I will win I am not done yet though, I do agree with the comment about GW stepping in and buying the Army as said it would be a wonderful display for their HQ.

I was almost about to say, \"If GW do that I will personally delete all of my posts\".

But then I imagined a scenario where they did do just that, with the petty cash and left it in the foyer to gather dust. At the end of the day though, I suppose it doesn\'t matter who buys it. Just the selling price.

There are a couple of people who will show their hand late, I am sure...I am not one of them, not in that league I am afraid, but I have duelled with them on eBay before. And lost of course...:D

EDIT: Oooh, I am a duffer:duh:.....just read the bit about GW doubling the selling price... I take it all (well a bit of it) back:D

They\'d probably buy it just see you delete all your 7000 odd posts lol.

that might be dangerous, with the threads he\'s started over the years, he might unfreak a few others in the process

To be honest Fran & I had a feeling that Finn17 would be bidding on it, if not the winner.
But, he\'s passing up on it. Unless he gets the \"Royal Permission\" of course.

Hah!

I\'ll show you who needs \'Royal Permission\"..... *tippy tippy typey..*

Hang on...perhaps not...

Sorry Mike, I love the idea but I can\'t get over my intense dislike of GW Ogres.

This is not a criticism or a \'dissing\' before anyone jumps in.....

I am sure they will go for a deservedly huge price to a real fan who will really appreciate them.

Well done to everyone, its an effort to be proud of :)

*I\'ve also posted the auction on Warseer (the old Portent) which is one of the biggest GW forums online, so that might get some more intrest*

Dear Steve Arse,

I appreciate your marvelous offer, and hereby authorise you to make a bid of $5000 on said Ogre Kingdoms army, with a 17.9% interest rate. Repayments will commence upon delivery of said army at my premises and the personal removal of all your CMON posts, including, but not limited to, all posts of your miniatures.

Sincerely,
Gavin Wanker

Reality check: If you think I\'ll be anywhere to be found after that, you\'re even crazier than I thought. :p

What are watchers? Is that an ebay thing or a paint aid website thing? ???

Eric. If you are a signed-in ebay user - when you click the link to an item (in this case the ogre army) - up at the top of the page is a clicky that says \"watch this item\"
The status of the item will then appear on your \"my ebay\" page when you sign in.

I assume \'watchers\' mean people who have put the item on their watch list on eBay. It\'s a list where you can put items you\'re interested in, but not bidding on (yet) so that you can easily find them and keep track of them. So, it\'s an eBay thing!
