W&N are bloody cheap for what they are...



For eyes..consider technical pens. A lot of folk use them.

I currently use a Series 33 size 1 which is a good all round brush. Big enough to do large areas and hold pretty much paint, fine enough point to do most details.

And I use a Series 92 size 4/0 for really small details. It\'s not insanely small so that it doesn\'t hold any paint and the paint dries before you can apply it. It actually holds a fair amount of paint for such a small brush and the point is excellent.

Don\'t waste your money on expensive stuff, just buy a set of four (cheapish) fibre-tipped ones. Make sure they have permanent ink....
I have a set of Staedtler on my desk at the moment in 0.1, 0,3, 0.5 and 0.7mm.

I know your asking for advice on reasonable priced brushes, but i must say i invested in the GW master brush set and my painting has improved drastically since.
I get the feeling your all going to tell me i got ripped off now. lol

I got that set from some GW staff friends last Christmas (ie. Christmas 2005), it\'s a set of W&N brushes with different labels, and a higher price tag. There is actually a W&N set that has everything but the embroidery on the rag and the little brass \"bolter shell\" piece of junk, and their set is cheaper.

Brushes are great, mind you, but it\'s even more pricey than Series 7 brushes usually are.

I love my set, and especially love the fact I didn\'t pay for it

Good brushes last for a long time given proper care, so in the long run the money spent on that set will still be money well spent. But, basically, yeah you got ripped off! :innocent: Like Jericho said, they are W&N brushes with a higher price tag. But regardless of the price, you got a good set of brushes. Take comfort in that...

Unless you buy the GW Masters set, in which case you get a bunch of W&N brushes and a VERY expensive rag and bolter shell cup. lol
