\"PAINT IT BLACK\" ...dont flipping bother !

I am just finishing my 70mm Vulkan Hestan and I want to give a stern warning to my fellow CMONers.
Some WIZ KID decided that the new FLUFF/TRUTH about Salamander Space Marines means that they have jet Black skin and red eyes !.... It all looks very good on paper but in reality it sucks ! :flame:
( Note ,we are not talking AFRO / CARRIBEAN BLACK)
I have been painting faces on 54mm figures for nearly 40 years and I can assure you Hestans face was a real nightmare to paint, I should have realised when I saw the SALLIES in the new CODEX, the 1 bare headed mini looks very bizarre.
So a word of friendly advice ,..put helmets on all your SALAMANDERS ! :drunk:

one of the modifications marines have is a system of hyperpigmentation to resist exposure to radiation. The salamanders homeworld is one giant radioactive mess so there marines skins darken to black as a result. As for the red eyes crap knows how they explain that one lol.

i understand that part, but surely they get their aspirants from the natives of the world, whos skin would be dark before becoming a sm?

yeah I did used to tell them they could paint them pink with blue spots if they wanted, no one ever did tho

The problem is that the skin should be black, as in chaos black, not dark, deep brown.
