Here's the submissions for the paint off between me and Shapoopie.

Both are nice minis. Yours is better, but you have to highlights more the mini. Shapoopie's one needs to be more blended.

Very little in it ...I would call it a draw

chrome. the carrapace on yours is very good i like it a lot, not so sure about the blue/turqouise clashes a bit for my taste.
shapoopie. nice paint shceme remeniscent of starship troopers bugs, you could do with using thinner layers of waterd down paint though.

for those reasons i would say draw too, well done.

I must say this is really exciting! The scores are almost identical!

For me of the two Chrome's figure has the edge.
He has smoother paint and has demonstrated more neatness and brush control.
However the colour scheme of overall blue and bone is lacking a little something to me.

Shapoopies piece has a demonstrated colour flair but has several areas of overpaint as well as 'dusty' looking areas indicative of slightly heavy drybrushing and paint which could do with a degree of additional dilution before application.

However the main thing is did you both have fun doing this?

I had great fun doing this. Even though it didn't turm out the best piece I've made I still feel it gave me something new.

I really want to point out the eye on Shapoopies nids gun, it's lovely!

chrome ill say you have the win due to smoother painting (and better photos...) have to say i like the buggy colorsheme of shapoopies more though!

I like Chrome's paint job more, but Shapoopie has a bolder contrast that definitely draws the eye. Chrome perhaps you could use a darker color for a wash (such as a purple) or a much lighter color for your highlights to give it a similar bold contrast that Shapoopie has on their model.

Had a great time doing this, thanks for all of the feedback as well! This is honestly the first model I have ever painted just for the sake of painting, and it gave me some time to try new things. Now i have decided to take my time on my other guys, and pretty much forget the whole rushing to get an army done thing Thanks for the competition Chrome!
