Paint, remove paint, and paint again?

Hello,

I'm waiting for my first order to arrive. I thought it would be a good idea to learn miniature painting without spending lots of money on my first thousand 'over exaggerated' miniatures, which probably will look awful, to order Reaper miniatures. I can than paint them, remove the paint and paint again. Is this realistic? If yes, what is the best way to remove the paint? With best way i also want to take health into account (as biological as possible).

Thanks,

Many people use Simple Green, a common household cleaner, to strip the metal minis. I use it myself, and it does very well.

And this is a very commonly suggested technique to learning to paint on a budget, so strip away!

I use a plastic bin full of pine sol, undiluted. Metal, plastic, resin. All will shed paint. You just have to watch the plastic/resin minis, as leaving them in the bath too long (more than a few hours) will soften them up and run the risk of damaging while scrubbing.

to me it sounds terrible boring to paint the same miniature over and over and over... and not to be able to see the progress you make! i still giggle at the miniatures i first painted when i decided to pick up the brush after 15 years.

I don't re-paint everything, but when I mess up (like I did with my andrea pin-up and her stockings the first time around) it's nice to get a re-do.
