Helloes everyone!
First things first i'd like to introduce myself as it is my first post on this elite forum.
I'm Jarek, i am from Poland and currently i live in Netherlands. Please excuse my poor english i still work on it.

Previously I've been playing and painting WFB, but there was a long, few years break. Now i start again but with 40k. I bought 5 scouts to see how can i do with the brush. I decided to paint them separately so i could see progress. I'm gonna show You guys last of them and i'll wait for advices, all i want is to evolve, any critique and advice is more then welcome, that's why i came here.
Here we go:

Next decision i made is to avoid buying new stuff untill i've painted all i had. It's time to get Dark Vengeance box now, and i'll try to make it my painting log if You don't mind.

Please comment.

Hi Jarek, welcome to Cool Mini. It looks like you are off to a good start. You have good brush control. I can see some nice variations in the greens and browns and I like the camo pattern you've done on the pants. The best advice I can give you is just to keep painting! A few other tips would be to, when you create the highlights and shadows, imagine a light source directly above the figure. If you look at his left shoulder pad, for example, it looks like the light is coming from the right as opposed to above. The light to dark looks nice (which is the hard part), the direction is just off. Another tip is to watch out for using too much black when you shade. Looking at the wings on his chest, did you use black for the shadows there? Black can make light colors look muddy. Try using a brown to shade there instead. The same goes for the yellow wire. An orange or a brown can look good there too. These are minor things, overall the figure looks good.

Have fun with the Dark Vengeance box. There are a lot of cool figures to paint in there.

Oh, and if your primary interest is painting advice, I'd recommend posting in the "Work in Progress and Project Logs" section of the forum. You should get more painting tips there. It doesn't matter if the figures are 40K, WFB, or anything else. Everything is ok there.

I agree with Bailey, If I am to add something I would say that the transitions of the green and other colours could become a bit smoother, I would suggest to use some glazes over the transition areas. Hope this will help you.

That's so nice to read it, thanx a lot. I'll ask about glaze in store tomorrow (today it was closed o_O). I'll also try to experiment with blending and light source imagining.
Thank You guys again.
