Painters block

Ever have one of those days where everything you paint turns out looking like it was done by a blind baby monkey with no thumbs?

I\'m STUCK, it\'s not that I\'m not motivated to paint, it\'s just coming out horribly tonight, and I have no idea why :(

Well, whenever I get painter\'s block, I take a step away from my desk and find something to either inspire me and help me work through it, or to give my mind (and eyes!) a break. Snooping through CMON seems to help me a lot... but also movies or video games. If you\'re doing fantasy minis, pop in LotR; sci-fi, get The Fifth Element out. I almost always paint with music on, as I find that it really helps to keep me going.
Good luck to ya! :flip:

yeah, I know, my break turned into coming and starting pointless threads on the forums! But that didn\'t seem to fix things either, perhaps, some nights, painting is just not ment to be. :(

Had one of those weeks here a bit back (I\'m sure the thread of my angst and aggrivation is still around here).

Anyhow - me, I just kept painting and pinesoling until it \'broke\'. Helped actually when I knew I was going to pinesol something I usually tried something new on it here and there. Was a bit educational, if not outright aggrivating.

haha, Darthfoley, I know exactly how that is, I have a 18 month case of painters block which took all of 2003 from me, called everquest. I had to go cold turkey and swear never to touch one of those games again!

FF you\'re probably right, this mini already has about 4 layers of paint on it, and it\'s not looking good yet, probably time to strip it, get some sleep and leave it for \'05 to continue banging my head against

Yep! I\'ve got a bit of Painters block at the moment, it\'s called being too lazy. lol

In reality I\'ve just been slobbing round the house, reading, being online and playing with a piece of Software called Terragen. Just needed the time off from everything to try to relax a bit.

Terragen is fun and you can make really good scenic backdrops for figures if you wanted too.

I\'ve also had a bit of a block lately, just cant seem to pick up the brush. Been surfing the net and staying up late, did,nt go to sleep until about 6am this morning, just 7 hours ago. Its probaly good to have a break though I wish I could say for resting the eyes but I dont think staring at a computer screen is much rest:D.

Well, the bad part of it is that Atlanta GamesDay is coming up on March 19 - which leaves me like 11 weeks to get everything I want to do, done. WoW is a great game, and I love it - I just wish I had gotten it for a St. Patrick\'s Day gift instead of Christmas, maybe......

lol

If you want a really good block, try Battlefield Vietman. If you do it online and see \'hampster of doom\' that\'s me.:bouncy::

I have a block too, but it\'s not as funny as yours: it\'s called \"Too much time spent in hospital at work and not enough sleep\"

it\'s a complex syndrome ;)

Yeah I seem to have permanent painters block at the moment...

Actually I\'m quite good at starting the things, just not finishing.
