I\'m about to paint a dwarf cannon (wh of course:twisted:)
and I\'m realising I\'ve got no idea where to start: metalic will look disco on the large surface, non metallic metal is way to long as I\'m apinting a whole army.
Would shades of grey work????
all ideas most welcome!!!

Shawn: It\'s a Dwarf Cannon there wouldn\'t be rust. :D

Thinned Boltgun Metal looks fine for Army level, Wash over with Artists Paynes Grey to get a dark shaded area.

Gues Who\'s doing the same army soon?

Oh Mike, fellow long beard, I salute thee! :-D
Let\'s keep in touch - I\'d love to see your dwarfs (odd sentence.....-) and show you mine (even odder sentence!)

The canon would probably not be different. The difference is that it is operated by dwarves! :D And we all know dwarves like their metals...

Why would a Dwarf cannon be different?
We all know Dwarfs love to polish their metal. ;)

Shawn you do know I was being semi-sarcastic

Usurpator: Did a trade, £50 Chaos Beastmen army for Dwarves and ended up with the full Army boxed set.
Now that\'s Dwarf trading for Ya.
Just got to paint the Wee Grumpy beggars.

There are a number of us at my local store who recon that Dwarves are from Yorkshire, But Dwarf Slayers are from Glasgow.

I\'m doing an Adeptus Mechanicus army (I know it\'s not dwarves, but hear me out) and I\'ve found, for metal surfaces, dry brushing over black doesn\'t look as good as painting it black, then a solid metal, then ink black, THEN drybrush over with your chosen metal color. It gives it far more depth.

If you want even MORE depth, repeat steps 2 and 3 a couple more times before drybrushing the final layer.
