Painting at Christmas

Is it just me or are other people having a serious lack of painting motivation around xmas time?
I don\'t know why but i havn\'t picked up a brush in just over a week now, and probably won\'t this week (or until xmas eve, when i get my new paints)

It might be a mix of the cold weather (very cold in my house, don\'t use the heating) and college work for me, but i just can\'t find any reason to paint!?

Anyone else having this block? Or have i just gone cold turkey?

I just really haven\'t had anything to paint! I\'ve been converting like hell though!

I\'ll get a bunch of minis on christmas and that will really kick-start my painting spree. From christmas on ward I really paint. I slow down from september - december.
Weird thing.

Painting all the time

I\'m painting like crazy. My school is on the quarter system so I\'ve had tons of time off.

Christmas is usually my busiest painting period, but; a block that\'s now a couple of months old just refuses to give way. Neither new minis nor new brushes have helped. :(

Real Life(tm) does get in the way.
Down to painting on a Sunday afternoon at the moment. (and not at all Yesterday).

Whicjh is a shame as I\'ve got some nice pieces I\'m working on The Eldar Autarch is a very nice piece.

I\'ve got a couple of weeks with no wife and child in the way (love them really :innocent: ) so I should be getting lots of painting done. In fact, I\'m mostly sitting and staring at too many minis to kow what to do. I\'ve done a lot of glueing, greenstuffing and priming but am too intimidated by the amount of minis in front of me to actually do them. I want to get some of my ME10 bits done this week but also have a Be\'lakor, dwarf cannon, 6-armed snake lady from Reaper (can\'t remember her name ATM) and some diorama ideas that I\'ve been saving up. End up just drinking wine and playing PS2 instead... I\'m bad :(

I\'m actually looking forward to the Christmas break where I\'ll have some time to finally do some painting...

Although in reality, this is probably what I\'ll end up doing too...

I just struggled out of a terrible month-long block, I\'m actually getting back into the swing of painting right now. The great minis that treide sent me in the latest exchange haven\'t hurt, certainly :) But I also think the holiday season has elevated my mood a bit and that does make me more creative.

Painting break

Sometimes a good break from painting can be the best thing for you. You don\'t want to over do it and wind up feeling like painting miniatures is a chore.

Might I suggest you spin some discs of your favorite music and whip out the paints on your \'hasslefree\' mini. You know the one I\'m talking about. If you can, send me some pics of Kristan when he\'s complete and ready for the display cabinet that would be really c00l.

Happy painting man!

I will be painting...it never stops for me. Being self employed i don\'t get paid if i don\'t paint :( This is one of the downsides of painting minis for an income. :( So you lot have a good time....i\'ll be in my corner as usual

this time every year I have a serious painters block. I think the reason is because I am far too busy. Daylight also plays a huge factor. I refuse to paint with any other kind of light. (winter=less light=less painting)

I think we could all use one o\' those :p
I\'ve found myself painting a bit more recently, although I\'ve had convertor\'s/builder\'s block ???

I don\'t think I picked up a brush all year :( Been too busy with reality, DVDs or Gaming. Having time to get back on CMON is starting to get the inspiration flowing, unfortunately my painting table is buried with left over yard sale stuff from teh summer.

I start my vacation on Friday! I saved all my time for end-of-year. 2 solid weeks of mini painting fun! My wife and I plan to paint minis while watching movies. She\'s working on all her GD entries for next year, I hope to do the same once my commission work is done.
