I\'m afraid I\'ll have to skip this one :(
I\'ll be away next week so I won\'t be able to keep up with the rest.
Sorry Klute!
I will, of course, be following this thread with great interest.

I\'m going to be a silent student on this one as well, I\'ll be away from home during the week for quite a while, so unless there are REALLY long breaks between steps, I can\'t see me being able to post! I will be playing in my own time though :D

I have to entertain the in-laws tonight & tomorrow. But I will play catch up on Saturday.

Sophie gets a \'bath\' in the mean time.

Just about everything I have is already spray primed gray.
Should I go over it again with a white primer?
Should I attempt to strip off the gray primer then redo in white?
Also, does it matter if the mini is male rather than female?

Grey is fine by me.As long as the first basecoat goes on solid.Thats why I dont use black. It means lots of white to get a solid base.
What will happen is the basecoat will be affected by the primer.A black or grey primer will give a darker tone to it.Grey shoyuld be fine though.
I want to concentrate more on the technique I use as opposed to the colours, though I will of course explain the colours used.
Male is fine though he will end up having pale girly skin. What I will probably do is drop a few notes in on colour choices for male/female.
Like the basecoat I use here is tanned flesh,a pink colour. For a male I would use more like graveyeard earth,a grey brown.
Becuase I use very thin glazes to get my results the primer and basecoat colour directly effects the final look.

I have the skin finished on the figure Im using and the final look is a very pale light skinned white woman.
You will find that you can achieve a good look about half way through the exercise, getting a \"pinker\" look.

As for timescale Im going to wait until Saturday night GMT to post the second stage.Anyone can drop a pic in anytime though to ask for advice, try to keep it topic specific though.
After that I reckon every other day.

Saturday will be basecoat and eyes.I have used photoshop to do the eye pics for clarity.

I will follow this thread with interest. I\'ve got a couple of lanyfhs that I\'m going to paint. I might not be able to keep to the pace of the class, but I\'ll follow it to some extent though. I almost never paint skin the same way twice and it could be fun (and useful) to try someone elses method. Thanks for doing this! :)

Went to the lgs, no Hasslefree, no Privateer Press and the only Spyglass minis of Caitlin or (?) the Demon Warrior had really bad mold lines. Choice was between some Copplestone cavegirls or a Reaper Dame of Nightmares. Lots of skin on the Dame with a completely bare upper torso -- nice nipples, something I\'d very much like to learn to paint. That\'s my mini now, the dancing girls will have to wait.:)

note to self: find a better lgs.

marineboy, where do you shop? Fantask?

Have you tried http://www.kerberos-games.dk/ ? They don\'t carry Hasslefree, but they do have some other nice minis....

Or you can order direct from Hasslefree. Their shipping prices are the same all over the world....

Sorry for the highjack, Mark :)

I started preparing a mini last night and then I got a bit carried away. Now the skin is nearly finished... :innocent: I\'ll guess I have to start on another. :duh:
