Well done for winning the comp, I think £10 is a bit stingy!!!!!
£50 would of been better, I\'m sure.
I have not entered any painting comps as yet, but I did win a few archery competitions, and got just medals to hang on my quiver belt
I guess its the prestige and challenge that counts, mind you a bit of cash would help

he he, just posted somwhere else about this...
Worst prize: A round of applause and an evil stare from the mother of the little chubby kid I beat.... at a local GW store.
Best prize: Last weekend I won WH single mini and 40K single mini at the GW Conflict South event... got a sack of pre-release minis for the 40K category including all of the new ork komandos (which are absolutley awesome btw) and one of the new plastic Tau stealthsuit boxes (which I\'ve been wanting for frikin ages)... I then got to pick my prize for the WH single mini category and got an army box set plus codex of my choice... all in all, considering all I expected to get was a certificate (got those too) it was a pretty darn cool prize!
The prize I most want: A GD statuette, don\'t mind what colour ;-)
I tried finding GW shops that run painting comps... a few do, but not many it seems... something I\'m trying to persuade my local stores to do more.

The best: Gold 2005 Italian Golden Demon veichle category, and a gold medal at the italian competition Euroma 2006 (really gold plated)
The worst: Gold at a local gw comp (stone troll mini drybrushed with gold -_-)

They didn\'t tell us we were getting prizes until we actually won... I was just expecting a certificate!
I think the fact that the conflicts were run by different groups of retail stores meant they varied greatly in how they were run...
It was a nice surprise though!
