Painting comps and seminars...

are there any in the Texas area other than Reaper\'s productions?

I\'m particularly interested in the South Texas area as I live in Houston. Doesn\'t seem to be a huge painting community in this area but that may be because I just haven\'t found it yet.

Cons, comps, sems, anything? Or am I stuck travelling to Denton to get my paint grove on?

It\'s worth considering travelling to Denton for ReaperCon, as they fly in a lot of painters from all over the US to teach classes. I doubt you\'ll find much that tops the level, variety and number of classes outside of Gen Con and the big European cons. I\'ve been to ReaperCon twice and am hoping to make it again this year, and I have a lot further to go than from Houston. ;->

My google fu must not be very strong because I didn\'t get the result you did. Thanks a ton though, this is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for.

I may try to get to Reapercon too, but just wanted to know what might be available round here.

sorry its a little off the subject, but is games day a convention???
No. It is a corporate event. Nobody else allowed.
No dealers\' area (except GW)
No games (except GW)
etc.
etc.

(no, i\'m not bitter that they killed GD-Atlanta)

I\'ve seen ads for Con\'s in the Houston area -

And Aggiecon is more a gaming event than a painting one - not to say there aren\'t impromptu painting classes going on but its not the main focus at the ones I\'ve been at.
