Painting Dark Angels Amsodai

Ok fellas\' of the realm. My best customer just came to me wanting me to paint the above stated. Now I get the drift of the mini and I understand that he has black armor and generaly a blue sword soo..... This is my question how Would I go about highlighting the black armor....? I can highlight black boots and stuff like that but this is different to my tastes....any suggestions on how I would paint that dern armor?

I would start out with a black undercoat (sprayed) and then highlight by mixing small amounts of (GW)Shadow Grey - probably 2 or 3 layers, then highlight up to (GW)Space Wolves Grey.

Theres actually a really good tutorial on Jakob Neilsens site (http://www.jrn-works.dk/) that might be of some help.

Well thx for the link above but....is there another article that you know of...I mean that article is nice and all but not enough detail for my tastes

Hey Shadz you\'re from NC? That\'s awsome so am I what parts do you stay?...any way anyone know of a bigger picture of that asmodai cause I can\'t find one

yup right smack in the middle of NC!

here i dont know if this will help, but i tried enlargin it and maintaining the colors so you can try this one. but the colors may be a bit off one shade darker or lighter.

Cool in the middle \'eh? where exactly? and thx for the bigger pic I saved it and cleared it up so now I\'m set...looks like they highlighted with blue which is odd...oh well I think I\'ll do my own thing and just stick with greys and blues mixed

From that it looks as though a little bit of green has been added to the highlights to give it a bit of a green look. Might just be the photo though.

Well that green is the internal armor stuff (between the big metal parts) I was gonna do that green anyways but the big clunky metal parts are highlighted as raven guard armor since Asmodai is a member of the Guard.........man I sure do know alot for somone that don\'t play

wel he is dark angels...so they might have just used a wash of dark angels green ink over the armor and then highlighted with a blue on the edges.
