Right well, what are you painting?
Any pictures? What colour scheme are you going for? Will the skull be painted in a generic colour scheme, how technical does the freehand need to be? Will there be any OSL on it, is there just the skull, or other stuff on it.

What type of skull are you trying to paint, is it a human skull, ork skull, animal skull, alien skull?
Have you tried to do any research by yourself, have you been on google or yahoo and searched for images, or sites about bone structure which you can use and look at for reference?

I might sound a bit narky but people can\'t really help until you give us something to go on. Explain what you are trying to do fully, and what you have already tried to do.
And give pictures of any attempts you have already tried etc...

In general, with any freehand, I\'d suggest breaking the structure up into component shapes - however - as Matty said - the more detail YOU give, the more we can give in return :)

google is your friend.

Get a picture of what you want, and experiment on some scrap. Don\'t be afraid to screw up, that\'s why you start on scrap, so you\'re not worried about getting it wrong the first time. Then practice on scrap till you can achieve your desired effect 9 times out of 10 with as few brushstrokes as possible.

Course if you\'re like me and you don\'t have infinite patience, just grab a picture, some paint, and go for it!

A tip I find useful is to have some of the background colour on hand, so you can \'shave\' your edges.

If you can paint over a colour that isn\'t a multiple mix of colours so you can easily cover over any mistakes .. you will make them it\'s only natural.. there isn\'t a definitive method to freehand it\'s basically about experimenting going for it and practis practise practise as well as the ability to swear through one\'s teeth when the bit you had perfectly has been ruined by your thumb.......
