Painting Glass

Hi Guys,

Anyone got any ideas on how to paint glass.

I have the ork pilot from forgeworld and want to paint it as realistic as possible.

I prefer to paint it using blue-greys and white. Add highlights toward the base, similar to a gem. Then rather than white dots on top as you might paint on a gem, use a couple white streaks for highlights.

Visually, glass is 99.9% not there. What you can do that works well, is to paint the area as though the glass isn\'t there. Shade what would be the inside of the goggles and the skin area as though there were nothing in front of them. As a final touch - and here, less is more - put some light streaks across the glass and highlight any sharp edges of the glass with a medium grey, and maybe one tiny highlight.

Unfortunately none specifically of glass, but if you take a look at this chaplain I painted, the front edge of the power weapon is just like what I\'m talking about.

As already mentioned, unless you want to do tinted or mirrored glass (as most flying goggles are anti-glare)

I did mine purple - just to try it :D
My Orky

Edit: I also remember mine had some annoying gaps to green stuff at the arms
