painting graffiti

At this near-mythical point in the future known as \"when I will have time to paint again\", there is likely to be WH40K Orkyness involved. Which means beat-up, rusty, graffiti covered death-traps for vehicles. Beat-up and rusty are no problem, but what is a good way to represent spraypaint?

I did a quick test where I painted some lines and then stippled over the lines to get a spray effect, but it just ended up looking blobby. Any suggestions on how to paint graffiti?

i just wrote the \"tag\"/graffiti, and then added the run-off from excess spray.

not that i know what i am doing it being my first time.

but i am sure that on scale you would not or very VERY slightly see the effect of spraying as it would be so small.

i got a thread in discuss submission i think where others have already given som thoughts and ideas on graffiti.

just look for thread subject \"tagged wall\".

There are some airbrushes that can be adjusted to paint a REALLY fine line.
Airbrushes, most of them can be set pretty fine, but for graffitti, over pressurize the air just a bit. If it spiders, back off.

That actually looks like a great way to do grafitti on ork vehicles. I don\'t have the skill to do grafitti pictures, so was going to just do words & simple icons. I think your run-off idea will work nicely. Thanks.

hes got cool graffiti.

Nice.

But we\'re talking about orks here. I don\'t think they\'d spend much time on a piece of graffitti. :p

Just had a thought. There some colored pencils that the \'lead\' is water color. You might be able to write the graffiti then with a damp brush smudge it.

I\'ve not heard of these before. Guess I\'ll need to pop into Hobby Lobby and see if I can find them.

Thanks for the idea.

The pencils I\'ve seen like that are called Aquarelle or something like. If you don\'t find them at Hobby Lobby, most art stores seem to have them. I can\'t recall if places like Joann\'s and Michael\'s have them, though they\'d be worth checking.
