Well, glazing/washes is my preferred method here since ive never actually attempted wet blending on minis! But i think you have just convinced me to give it a go on one of these beasts (they are metal after all, and can be stripped quickly and easily if need be lol)

Armed with your great advice (and a folder full of googled horse pictures) i shall now go and dip a brush again, will let you know how i get on

@liz - cool, once you get them put together, I can help with the painting. Get working!!! lol

@Chigh - one of the big reasons I like wet-blending is that it makes it easier to correct mistakes. It\'s very easy to get too much paint on the horse. But, if you clean off your brush and dry it, then use it to blend the colors, the retarder allows you to do that.

Thin glazes can work but in my experience they take much more practice. Because the paint is still workable with the retarder, it makes it easier.
