Painting Mishaps

Last Night I suffered the most annoying of painting mishaps. I went to shake up a bottle of Tamiya Clear Orange that apparently I didn\'t screw the lid on all the way and ended up with it all over myself, the carpet, and the wall.

Just thought I would share it with you and see what other mishaps you might have experienced!

Cheers,

-Mike

Long long ago (in a galaxy far far away) well any how many years befor I was married I tried to open a glass bottle of Gloss Black paint.
Shatered the top off the bottle, which then turned into shrapnel in my hand. Of course the contents of the whole bottle landed in my lap and proceeded to thence travel onto the chair I was sitting on.

My mother went absolutley \"Fruit loops\" (a not uncommon occurence with her!) about the state of the chair. This was despite the fact I\'m also bleeding like a stuck pig from several shards of broken glass in my hand.

Yeah, this actually happened just an hour or so ago. I didn\'t look where the end of my brush handle was, and it catched the lid of a new GW ink bottle...chestnut ink all over my desk! Luckily nothing but the colour of the desk was destroyed...I actually like the look because all geniuses are messy right? :p:D

Black Ink all over the desk. But fortunately no already painted minis were ruined. Screw everything else. :D

I dropped an opened bottle of Vallejo paint several times, ruining the carpet, and two of my t-shirts.

Looks like that paint shaker thing can cause a lot of damage when the lid of the paint jar isn\'t put on properly :bouncy:

Mrs finn has resurrected dozens of bottles she was going to throw away;)

Paint shaker? Christ, you idle bugger.

lol

Next you\'ll be wanting an automatic mini painter machine!

lol

At our previous house I had a little accident, well a couple actually involving paint and the living room carpet. I painted up a few of those plastic moulded terrain boards for Griffin (the ones advertised in Harbinger) and managed to get green acrylic on the cream carpet twice. The other occasion was when I went to open a pot of Foundry paint and forgot the flip top lid had broken. Lid flipped off, I lost my grip on the pot and tipped it all over my hand, down my jeans, and over the carpet. That was about a week before we were due to move out! Some frantic scrubbing managed to get the carpet clean before the landlord saw it.

If Reverend\'s reading this, sorry, but the paint did clean up in the end and you\'ve sold the house now so it doesn\'t matter anyway.

Thank heavens for 1001 springs to mind I have lost count the number of times I have dropped opened paint pots.

The worst I think though are the GW inks in the screw top pots they seem to leak even when upright.

Wish they would go back to the origonal dropper bottles they had when they first came out!!!!!!!!

Brushlicker and Freak!
I still have a complete set (bar the black) of those dropper bottles. You can refill them by squeezing them and then sticking them in a pot of ink and letting it suck the ink up.
