Hello everyone! I am so happy I found a community that might be able to help me with my current project.
I am going to be running a campaign this summer for my friends and I. I wanted to start up a new army. With the new SM Codex out and the addition of GW Drop Pods I am planning on running a Crimson Fists army this summer. After doing some extensive searching on the internet I found a few photos that have certain painting styles that I want to incorporate into my entire army.
The first is the painting by Brokenblade. Everything about his model is amazing. But I really liked how the armor looked.

Here is a picture I found portraying a similar look to the armor, but for the Crimson Fists Shoulder Pad.
So... I know I can achieve this... I just need some instructions on how to get the right shine so that it appears to have the chrome look like the two photos above.
Eventually I will want to hand paint the banners and the Crimson Fists insignia on the shoulder pads and add some extra details like marks of honor etc... I know this will just take repetition and time.. but i need to find out how to get the armor just right before I head into the details.
I have also found a decent site for painting damage onto the models instead of damaging the models at Kaple\'s website.

Again, thank you everyone for your time! Once I get going and get some painted i will surely post some pictures at the army builds itself. I think this style of painting the dark blue will be stunning over the army and especially on the drop pods and vehicles.
