Painting NNM helmets.

Hi there.

New user on the site, has been away from the hobby like... 4 years or so

Anyways, as a \"returning home project\", I am going to paint a Blood Bowl Human Team, in the colours of New Orleans Saints. I know nothing of this team in real life, but like the colour scheme, which should go well on the slightly larger Human miniatures (they are not 28 mm!).

Here is a pic:

And of the miniature, which I have stolen from DeepDarkSecret:

Anyway, my plan is to use a simplified colour scheme, with trouser painted a light Khaki colour, jersey a dark Brown/Grey, armour plates (suitably de-spiked...) Black and helmet Gold... More specifically NNM Gold.

I would really appreciate some photos of minis with NNM helmets, as I have a hard time figuring out how to place the lighting and shade

The technique shouldn\'t be too difficult, I was once fairly okay at painting and there are loads of good tutorials out there.

Looking forward to hearing from all of you brilliant guys out there!

Oh, if anyone would like to demonstrate, I have mercilesly copied this from Wikipedia:

I don\'t know if that is an easy way of doing it, but you are more than welcome to demonstrate on this pic how to apply the colours... And please suggest which you would use, it appears to be a very light Gold.

Alexi Z\'s Clergy Ann should give you a fairly good idea where to place the highlights and shadows.

As for colors, you can check this thread out :

- While not completely what I was looking for, it is a pretty convincing match! Thanks green stuff

As for the colour, perhaps I should PM the Alexi Z? I will do just that now...

- Hehe, originally I wrote \"...the painter of this...\", but then I saw the name and typed that instead. Just forgot to erase \"the\" as well

But thanks for the help the DaN, glad you could give me some pointers ;)

Thanks Blackfly, those are awesome! As you say, a richer tone, but very inspirational none the less!

I have finally gotten my validation code from CMON, so now I\'ll start pestering various painters
