This is how you do alot of them quick. Paint the flesh sunburst yelloww and the leather parts snakebite.

use green ink on the flesh and chestnut on the snake bite. Paint some bits red and the guns gun color and your done.

You can do 20 orks in a night.

I know it isn\'t very unique, but I\'m looking for a green skin recipe. I\'m too cheap to pick up the armies book :) Not looking to paint a lot fast, just a couple of minis.

Thanks,

It\'s much slower than Ogrebane\'s method, but what I did >>here<< was;
- base with 1:1 dark angels green and codex grey
- glaze with 1:1 goblin green and codex grey
- glaze 1:1 camo green and fortress grey
- a very thin wash with yellow ink
The greys helped to reduce the intense greenness of the ork.

Thanks for the tips folks. I\'ve got an old Gorkamorka boxed set that could use some attention. Not that I\'ve forgotten about my skellies mind you. I\'m working on them, there are just a lot of them :)

my mix for ork skin is

+ white undercoat and basecoat of camo green
+ ink with dark angels green
+ slowly layer up to camo green on the higher areas.
+ mix in small amounts of bleached bone for each layer of highlight
+ finally highligh with pure bleached bone

this should get you a very similar tone to the ork you posted mczolton

Catachan Green
Catachan Green / Black mix as a shade wash, not too much black mind.
Catachan Green
Catachan Green/Camo Green up to pure Camo Green
Camo Green/ Bleached Bone to finish and that should give you something like this,

GDOrkFront.jpg

OrkBoy1Front.jpg

which reminds me I must get back to finishing these guys.

Just saw niclo hanset work one an ork and what he did was had some purple for the shadows, looks pretty good has it goves a cool tonality to the shadows and makes for a deeper color.
