Painting Quality

I was at my nephews house yesterday, and showed him CMON, as he likes painting as well. But the quality of the painting on his computer screen, was so much poorer than mine, I was shocked, the colours were all washed out, even mine looked crap lol I can see why some get voted down now, I was glad to get back to my screen, and marvel once again at our talented painters.
Anyone else experienced this ???

Yep, Laura\'s is much brighter and works is much darker.

Iv had a Huey Colour Collaboration on mine, so that are matching with Pantone and Adobe RGB and CMYK, (which I switch through depending on what im doing, use RGB for the net) so I can only assume mine is roughly correct.

Yeah, we\'ve got some really crappy screens at work. I wonder sometimes when I look at one of my own minis on one of those screens how many other people see the mini like that and think that\'s the way it looks like.

Definately a problem. Cheap LCD displays has been a culprit I know as well. My ex-gf had one of those.. no mini had enough contrast on that one.

We have a bunch of cheap laptops at work and lots of minis look blotchy and chalky on those. When you look at them on a proper screen, though, they look smooth as silk!

Not that I ever use to look at minis at work, mind you! :innocent:

kinda handy though, always thought it was my painting that caused my low scores and now i know all along it was peoples screens!!!

lol lol darklord, yes its a good excuse for mine as well lol
But the painting really did look bland on my nephews screen, even Alexi Z\'s, who normally look awesome and is a favourite of mine, just looked washed out. It was a shock to see it.
I guess it will affect people\'s work that is sold on ebay as well, it all depends on the screen there being watched from.

Right then, when I eventually get a camera and a finished mini to submit, I can expect lots of 10s due to people having to take into account that my mini\'s flawlessness will be affected by people\'s screens. lol

we should get the admins to write a clause at the scoring guide:
\"If you are viewing this miniature on an LCD screen, then add 2 to your score.\"
i might get some half decent scores then.
or maybe i should put my pictures at a size less than 2048 x 1536.
