Painting Tau

hi, i\'m goin to be painting a Tau devilfish APC, it will be my first large model.
I will paint it in the gw colours (vomit brown) and i don\'t know whether it will be easier to get a smooth base coat on a black undercoat or a white undercoat.

Furthermore i don\'t have any good condition large brushes and i want to know if using a larger brush will get smoother results, i will water the paint down anyway and will spend a long time on it so i\'m prepared to do many layers.

Thanks, i\'ll keep all you posted on how it goes

generally something this size it is good to just use an airbrush. but since you are not /.....yes the bigger brush is good. make sure to paint in one direction most of the time and to apply multiple coats. i would probably use a white undercoat for this color. and i would also mix your paints 50/50 paint to water. finally when it comes time to outline those lines.. use a macro pen... you can get it at any hobby store. course with your size of vehicle you may buy more than a few. :)

break a leg.

def make sure you keep your paint thin, it will take many coats for sure. If it gets to thick you\'ll begin to see the brush strokes. Good luck!!

If you\'re going to use a large brush, be sure to buy a round watercolour brush. Flat brushes will leave streaks.
