Painting White

I need some advice on how to do a white/winter paint scheme. I\'m thinking of starting a Hordes Circle of Orboros army and wondering what a winter type color scheme would look like. Especially on the animals, are there any special tricks to get white fur to look good. I\'m thinking of doing very pale skin colors and a winter style camouflage.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

There\'s a lot of taste involved in this. Try stuff, see what looks good to you.

The key to painting white, and light colours generally, is to keep the contrast low (i.e. don\'t go too dark on the shadows). The \'colour palette\' you use then is up to you - you can go blueish, beige, straight grey, or if you\'re really ambitious a mixture of colours.

Personally I like to paint dark-to-light, building towards the highlight (straight white) in stages. You can do it the other way - start with white and paint the shading in stages - and it can work just as well, just a matter of what works for each painter.
