I\'m sure this will probably get some laughs, but does anyone paint with regular artist tube acrylics? For examble, Basics?
I\'m curious, because that\'s what I started painting with and I still like them better than regular model paints. I like to paint a black base, then highlight with white. The thicker consistency of artists\' acrylics work well to cover any \"missed spots\" in the prime job.
For the highlighting, the thicker paint just seems to go where I want it to a lot better than thin paint.
Also, I like to mix my own colors, and it is easier to start with a color that is close to, say, a true red or blue, than some funky variant.
There is an exception to the \"mix your own\" idea - flesh tones. Tried that - gave up REAL QUICK.
