While I\'m working on my Blood Raven Librarian, I\'ve decided to multitask for a bit and work on Sir Malcolm by Reaper. The mini is pretty cool, but I still have to get rid of a pesky mold line on the right side of the mini, as you can see. I would do it right now but I\'m out of town and I don\'t have my files on me to do so.

I\'m really taking my time on this mini and am enjoying it thoroughly. After talking to Aliengod3 about blending better, especially after seeing his impressive Nurgle Knights, as well as talking to Zentradi about his beautiful blending skills, I decided to jump at get Vallejo Flow Improver to really help me achieve nice thin layers and optimal blending.

So far, I love it. It\'s been very nice to work on this guy\'s face while achieving some nice blending. This mini will be a true workshop for blending and NMM alike. Any C&C will be greatly appreciated.

After removing the pesky mold line, I went to town finishing the face and painting the eyes in. To date, these are the best eyes I\'ve actually been able to paint so I\'m pretty pumped about them.

I did some work on the cloak today as well and started to basecoat the armor. I have a long way to go on him, but it\'ll be worth it in the end.

Haha, actually it was a piece of fuzz that I saw and brushed off after I took the pics.

The skin tones I\'m using are P3 colors:

Khardic Flesh; Midlund Flesh; and last but not least Ryn Flesh. Make sure to preheat your oven to 350* and grease up a baking pan. This will make your tones come out with a golden goodness to them.

Well I\'ve been busy at work and I decided to put the armor on hold and tackle the cloak. I\'m loving the flow improver and I was able to really crank on this cloak. I\'m proud of it as it\'s the best I\'ve done on fabric and that it\'s red; red\'s terrible to paint. To shade the cloak, I used a trick I read about around on the forums: mix in some green. I think it looks great.

Yes, I have a small mess up on his white robe where I managed to smack it with some red paint. I\'ll get to it though :)

From here on out, it\'s metal time. Time for golds and silvers (armor, sword, ect). I\'m nervous now. This is probably my best mini to date and I\'m afraid of completely butchering it since I\'m going for NMM. Here goes nothing...

.....and we\'re done!

Well after having a bout over the week with the rough job-hunting world, I managed to finish Malcolm up! Here he is!

overall, a very clean mini. i have to admit though that 2 parts really pop out at me, the cloak looks phenomenal and the skin is rendered superbly, cloaks what really does it for me though. i think your on the right track with your NMM but its looks to me (just personal opinion keep in mind) that you could use more contrast in your silver and more yellow in the gold. it looks to me more like bone than gold atm. if your using GW paints id try a bubonic brown or maybe even bring some golden yellow into it. if you use p3 more (i thought i saw u mention it somewhere but cant remember) id check out masterbenz\'s sigvald wip thread, he posted his NMM gold recipe in there and it is incredible, probably the best ive ever seen. i believe he brings a little sulfuric yellow (P3) into his gold. i think it was masterbenz\'s....if not im really sorry, havent looked at it in a while but tis very inspirational.
