Or rather, a brand new computer. Yay! And I got the Rackham minis I\'d had ordered in yesterday. Twas a good day all round :). If anyone cares, the new machine is as follows:
Gigabyte K8-something or other Socket 939 mobo w/ PCI Express
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1 GB of DDR 133 RAM
Samsung 120 GB SATA RAID HDD
Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT PCI-E video card
LG DVD+R-RW DVD Writer

Still have to buy a monitor, mouse and keyboard, sound card, and a Logitech 5.1 speaker system, but our regular computer is on the fritz so I\'ve hijacked those components for the time being. The case came with 6 (aye, 6!) built in fans, so this is not a quiet machine by any means, but it glows green when powered up. How cool is that? About that virtual pint, airhead...:D

I didn\'t get a new PC when I made member. Boy the spoiled kids these days.

Congrats - new machines are always cool.
and welcome to memberhood - prepare to burn that machine up by posting here.
lol

Now, where is that beer/ale emotocon?

Cheers! I\'d love a new PC, but I think I should take care of that pesky credit card debt first.

Being unemployed for like a year really put a crimp in things. :(

Just built something similar myself.

MSI motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
2 GB of DDR 400 RAM
2 Seagate 80 GB SATA HDD (set up in a raid array)
Seagate 120 GB SATA HDD
Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT PCI-E video card
Lite-On DVD+R-RW DVD Writer

Got my second Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT PCI-E video card coming in tommorrow so I can do the SLI config.

Party at the manse

But do not ask what herb was used to stuff the chicken, or why the mint sauce isn\'t quite so minty.

I\'ve got a brand new pair of rollerskates, you got a brand new key... :D

Last computer I built is 2 1/2 years old. I was gonna go to a comp. show this weekend and buy parts to build a new one, but I spent all my \'fun\' money on minis. Now I got to wait another month.

Don\'t wear hats, it causes hair loss. :(

If you want \"the best\" mouse and carpet for the mouse, get yourself a Logitech Mx518 (other option would be Razer diamondback, but it lacks in buttons vs logitech) with Steelpad carpet. Those are real Pro Gamers equipment. And if the mouse isnt slick enough, teflon tape it up lol

Logitech is IMO the best brand for mouses, keyboards etc. A good keyboard from Logitech doesnt cost a lot, 10-20€ depending on what u want.

Really nice computer, going to live for long i suppose.

@Rhode: This I know to be true. I\'ve purchased a number of Logitech peripherals, and the new machine\'s mouse-and-keyboard is going to be the X700 or whatever wireless set. Pretty and powerful. I\'m also getting their Z-540 5.1 speakers.

A Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard combo caused my state-of-the-art (anno 1999, lol) to crash when I iattempted installation...tried again a month later and it worked like a charm, you figure. Logitech mouse/keyboard, speakers and webcam. Good for the money and stable, too.

I just built basically the same computer, except only 1gb of RAM, which I\'m going to up to 2 soon

I put it all inside a cooler master centurion case
Gonna get blue LED\'s since I have an acrylic side, to make it look pretty

I also just got my 19\" 8ms LCD by Hyundai

Oh and a 250gb harddrive

I put mine in the Cooler Master Praetorian.
Nice, aluminum case.

Oh, and my girlfriend liked mine so much I had to build her one.
