parchment terrain piece help

Hi I was wondering if I could get some ideas of how to create the effect of an old piece of parchment as a title for my diorama piece, Bridge of Khazad dum. I want the parchment to look like an old stained piece of paper (weathering on edges and burned a bit on the edges). I want the paper to look like a couple of centuries old, Thanks.

I used to make props for my RPGs to be old scrolls. Pretty much stick a piece of paper in the oven on fairly low heat for a long time.

you can get nice brown/yellow parchment new. Then fill a cookie sheet with some strong tea and soak it. Let it dry. write on it. then try baking it like Vince suggested, but I just used to burn the edges with a lighter. Gotta be careful there.

The easy way was what vince said, or you can light the paper on fire to get burnt edges and browning, if its not brown enough, stick a burning sheat of paper under it.

Tea works great, also it looks better if you use thicker artists paper, or old style handmade paper. Crumple it up a bit first then soak it and flatten it out.
