Phew! made it onto the sculpting wagon just in time! I'm in the UK and have been painting miniatures since I was 12 (I'm 43 so you'd think I would get the hang of it by now...)

I've done a few small conversions in green stuff which I'll post up tomorrow and I'm looking forward to trying a whole miniature.

A quick tip to UK folks who are buying green stuff. Games workshops are the main stockists but if you can find a Gale Force 9 stockist they are FAR cheaper. (I just bought 100g of GF9 green stuff for £10 compared to 20g for £6 at GW!) Look for Flames of War stockists for GF9. If you have a local Hobbycraft they usually stock both side by side.

Good luck all!

Hey Paul,

Yup, don't get it from GW if you can help it, purely from a cost point of view. Also, when it comes in tubes rather than on a ribbon you don't have to cut out the middle bit that's set since it was manufactured.

All the best with your project :)

Been thinking about a concept and I'll probably follow along with the "official" figure and deviate when I get inspired about something. I would like to give chainmail a try on the figure (seems like an easy thing to sculpt and canbe used for a lot of conversion cover up work...)

You're right, people use it to cover things up, but most sculpted chainmail is pretty rubbish (including a fair bit of mine)...luckily we can talk chainmail technique a little way into the project, so that's ok :)
