Did you know that no one has ever actually seen a killer whale (orca) eat a penguin?
Scientists have observed them eat squid, fish and an occasional seal, but never penguins. It\'s believed they do, just when no one is watching. They believe this because orca watchers noticed that when orca are present, the penguins won\'t get in the water.

No James, there aren\'t any ships in the Antarctic
But only 4 of the 17 species of penguins live in the antarctic. The other 13 species live all throughout the southern hemisphere.

p.s. but Bill is right about them not being propellor fodder. Penguins are fast swimmers, unlike say dugong or manitee who aren\'t fast enough to avoid boats.

But you will notice - there are no penguins in the water.
The penguin life-guard already blew the whistle \"all penguins out of the pool\"!

 I read somewhere, that early sailors tried eatting penguins and found them so nasty, that\'s why we still have penguins today.

You should read Herman Melville\'s description of penguines in \"The Encantadas.\"
He\'s describing the fauna of the galapagos chain and he basically says that Nature was so embarrassed for creating such a foul, ungainly creature that she put it out on the end of the earth so no one would see it.
Of course, in Melville\'s day no one could see penguins under the water so they thought their method of swimming was more or less falling in the water.

Now Sr. Mary Elizabeth, my old English teacher, I\'m not so sure about.

You wouldn\'t say that if you had seen him from the waist down.

Penguins; Usage level is somewhere lower than a Maitre\'d and higher than a Nun.

However he is a somewhat annoying and constant foe to The Batman.
