I don\'t use it myself, but I know that you can buy some kind of foil that is intended for flags and banners and such. In Stockholm, where I live, there is a store that sells a lot of historical minis (and Rackham minis as well 
) that also sells that stuff. If you have a similar store nearby you could ask them.

or how about Milliput or similar.......
Let cure a bit, and roll out very thin between two pices of plastic bag, with talcum powder to stop it sticking. It can be cut to shape with a knife and then positioned in a flowing style for quite a while before it sets - it\'s pretty durable when dry.
Actually just looked at the bat-linkage, which is pretty much the same thing!

Beer cans are great for this. They can be a little thick, but just rub the flattened aluminium can on a piece of wet and dry. They curl and spiral beautifully, hold their shape and most of all DON\'T TEAR!! HTH

Yes, but if you use foil or soft, bendable stuff, if you bend it after painting it the paint will crack. And that just has to suck.
Then again, GS in thin layers must be pretty fragile. Hm...

I\'ve tried Green Stuff and to be honest with you, it doesn\'t work well on it\'s own as it tends to \'rip\' when bent even a small amount.
It\'s good for getting a decent shape, however.
So maybe using GS over foil may work, although there may be no point...

Drink the beer and think it over? Try the putty approach, if it fails, you can go at it again with your newly emptied beer can.
I\'d think a beer can would be a little too easy to bend after you\'ve painted it though, your banner would be all cracked and ruined.
You can get rolls of tin, aluminum, copper from DIY shops. Home stores, the places you get shingles for your roof and 2x4\'s etc. (not sure where you live so just trying to be clear in case you dont use the same terminology as me) Might be hard to find something thin enough there though. I got a roll of brass shim stock from lee valley, it works great for banners, pennants etc.

Im definately going to go the plasticard route for my Gael standard wip.
You guys worrying about the paint cracking on foil banners, maybe try thinner paint application?
Wet and dry sandpaper.Usually gets very fine and yes amongst other things is used on car body work.Gets its name from wetting the paper to get a smoother finish then drying the work piece off.I think.
