people who vote with bad intention

my personal opinion

pf: jejejejeje.........my computer is indestructible, but it can destroy all my patient all the time!!...
the problem here isn\'t the criterion to vote, because the personal vote depends directly on the personal tastes and opinion, however, I think that if something is good you have to recognize though you don\'t like the style.
other problem is that there are most minis underestimated and most overvalued, like so much minis that are so showy and gets highest puntuation instead technically are not well done..some people see a miniature with a lot of color overhighlighted and without degradations or blendings and they rate this with a 10...I respect those opinions but I cannot understand why a mediocre mini gets a puntuation over 8.5.....
anyway it is only a personal opinion.
I hope nobody hurts this.

Sniping-Ahhh glad to know what this is called. Was browsing minis over my morning coffee and ran across one that was fairly well done BUT someone had voted it a 1 and left a not very nice comment on it. Even mentioned that they had never painted a mini ever-wish I had saved it so I could link it. I just thought it was a hateful sad thing for someone to do.

I think that the idea of listing the last couple of people who have voted and the score they have given although a good idea isn\'t going to stop the sniper.

If anything especially in the early days of teh posting you may not even get them listed because the votes seem to be going on that fast in some cases.

Plus you have those that do noyt even bother to look at the description of teh mini they see the photo decide it is not for them and then low score it.

My latest has gone from 6.4 to 6.1 in the last half dozen or so votes. I don\'t think its brillant but niether did I expect it to drop by this much in so short a time after all I don\'t think it is that bad really given the size. (40736)

Well I don\'t intend to lose any sleep over it, if people are so shallow that they hit you like this and promote a distance shot of a smaller than normal space marine is their choice I guess.

I know you are never going to stop the snipers short of moderating all the votes as well as the posts but maybe the point of enforcing a public comment if people vote below the average on a mini isn\'t such a bad idea.

I do the same thing. I don\'t think it\'s a case of being \'Overly generous\' but of adhering to a set of guidelines I\'ve given myself in where I\'d place a figure on a scale of 1 to 10. In my world, there are as many 10\'s out there as deserve them. I think some people there there can be only one.

Really, if a model strikes me, and is technically well painted, based and generally is a good job it will rate a 9 or a 10. I\'ll also give 10\'s for really original ideas. I find that alot of painters who put stuff up here rate between a 7 and a 10. They are definately above average, and well above table top quality (which as a gamer proabaly means something different to me than it does to those who paint to collect).

I used to game a lot at one time (before I got married) now it is occassionally when I can find the time to fit it in but one thing always amazed me and that was the attitude of a lot of gamers was that so long as it had some paint on it even just an undercoat/primer in some cases the said gamer would argue that it was painted and the arguement still goes on today believe it or not.

Maybe we should look at what defines a gaming mini compared to a good paint job?

Or has that already been done?
