I paint my thumb.
That's pretty impressive for a first try, skintones are spot on, might need more on contrast on the smaller bit.
Keep it up!

I think this is 54mm? Looks good, the blues could use some smoothing and a little more contrast in the recesses. Maybe a little more definition in the arm wraps and boots. Skin tone is great. Love his facial expression. Great work for your first mini. Keep it going.

Thanks a lot for your comments guys !!

I am pretty happy with it as a beginner... but sure it will need more contrated part, as I am quiet affraid to contrast too much, but I should use this experience positively for my next mini...

Thanks for your kindly reply

Thats the most important thing, being happy with what you have achieved.
You can always use this as a stepping stone to improvement and not be dissapointed in it.

Contrast on 54mm needs to be a bit more subtle than on 28mm figures due to the increase in scale size. I'd strongly suggest that you look to getting the hang of using washes and glazes to get smoothness of change between dark to light for shadow to highlight.
Having looked at this figure quite few times I'd like to make a couple of suggestion for you to consider;
You've used a limited number of colours, Blue and Brown.
For leather straps, in normal usage it easily picks up darker tones, so variation of the brown would look more realistic and suggest worn, aged leather. This would be most apparent on the boots, which to me would benefit with a stronger darker colour different to the belt/straps.
The blue I would suggest could do with a touch of something like "Space Wolves Grey" on the sharpest folds of the cloth to give it a bright highlight.

Nice !! Very nice to have precise tips to improove my techniques..

I agree for leather, I spend less time on it definitively... and if I should do it again, I will make it diferently. Starting from a light brown/yellow and shading step by step with brown/green/red color.

54 mm is not the easiest way to begin, I should admit. Maybe I could train myself on smaller scale first and come back on 54 mm after a while.

But this mini was very funny to paint, and spend good time, emphasizing the fact I will definitively continue painting.

Thanks
Regards
