Pestigor WIP, advice needed

Hi everybody,

I want to enter the next German golden demon (Maybe I\'ll enter this guy if I haven\'t got something better for fantasy single), but I need some more painting practise. So I started this pestigor.

I sculpted the belly because I wanted to test my new sculpting tools.

The metal is finished, and also the brown clothes are. But the green needs some more work although I\'m very happy with the colour so far.

I\'ll probably paint the skin in very light normal flesh tones, but with some green, purple and brown glazes.

So what do you guys (and gals) think?
Advice and comments are greatly appreciated because I want to do this as perfectly possible.

BTW, sorry for the pics, especially the first one is somewhat blurry.

The model looks great so far. I\'m interested in how you achieved the color on the axe, it looks really nice!

As for a ligher color skin, I think that would look very effective, not sure how the glazes will work but again, am intersted in the idea.

Thanks,

I started with boltgun metal, then mixed some black in it to shade the blade. I repeated that several times, adding more black to the mix until I found it good enough. Then I highlighted it by adding mithrill silver to boltgun metal, and repeated it almost to pure mitrill silver.

Then the real work begins, first I diluted some chaos black, and glazed the blade with it, I repeated this several times. Then I glazed it with bestial brown, at the places were the rust was going to be, at a somewhat thinner than milk-like consistency.
After repeating that several times, I diluted some vermin brown, and started to highlight the rust as a glaze, so you glaze only the bestial brown parts.

I also glazed some catachan green on some parts, and i think also somesnakebite leather. Then I rehighlighted the metal.

That\'s about it, and don\'t worry if it looks like crap in the beginning, after a while it starts to look great :).

Hope this helps.

Does anyone else has some comments/ advice/questions?
