Hi,
I've made these pics of a Boneripper RatOgre to use as a reference for lighting of muscle- and armourparts. Now, how do I best interpret these, I can imagine the armourparts need more contrast in terms of lighting/reflection as I'm giving NMM a go.
Also, I innitially was going for a bronze schoulderplat but I got a little hesitant about it because it would make not much of contrast with an overall brown skintone. So should I go for steel on that one?
TIA

Moved it here as I think it is best suited as a project log. Perhaps you should rename the title to something more suitable like a "Rat Ogre WIP" or something like that (Edit post - go advance).

As for the mini I think you are thinking correctly, more contrast! :) As for a bronze shoulderpad you can create contrast by having more contrast then to the skin, sharper highlights. But also you can try doing a verdigris effect.

Edit title plus further progress:http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb462/gninocker/Boneripper2.jpg
I was going for this brown highlight and sequentially mixed the equivalent of Vallejo's scorched brown with GW's Bronzed Flesh, then with Bestial Brown and another one with Vallejo's Parasite Brown. The one with Bronzed flesh, to my big surprise gave this incredible mousegrey which went on the mini. This will be shaded with a ScBrown and German Grey (Vallejo)-mix to accentuate the fur. Hopefully to achieve the appearance of fur on Rackham's Wolfen and/or Devourers-miniatures.
Still not very keen on that shoulderplate though.
