I was wondering what type is of bulb is best for taking pics of your mini. Like softwhite or clear.... 40w or 75w.... I would like to hear how everyone has their photo rig set up.

Mine is a clip-on lamp overhead and a table lamp i hold next to my camera (set on timer) with the mini on a sloping piece of paper. The bulbs I use are energy saving but I think they put out too much light, I get a reflection on my mini\'s.

My new photo lamp is the same one I use for painting. It\'s a halogen tube on a posable arm. The \"tube\" vs \"bulb\" is better because it\'s more \"multi-source\" than \"single source\", so the light is distributed more evenly. None of my posted pictures have used this lamp, but I\'ve taken some test shots and it works out well. Just place a plain white paper towel behind it, and I\'m good to go.

so...to answer your question...get a halogen bulb. The lamp cost me $20, I bought it at Wal*Mart. It was called a \"Architect\'s Desk Lamp Organizer\", or something.

Halogen

Get a Halogen bulb. It gives a truer white than the standard incancesent.

Standard bulbs tend toward yellow (this the blue filter on my camera for shooting indoors without flash).

Floresent bulbs (cool) tend toward blue. and (warm) tend toward pink.

Without a halogen, you will have to spend additional time in your photo editer to correct the color balance, or use a flash (bounced off of the ceiling).
