Ok, everybody, we\'re back from the first Polish Golden Demon! We had a really great time therem and even if our stay in Warsaw was pretty exhausting, we really enjoyed the stay.

And we\'re not back empty-handed! Several Chest of Colors members won a few demons: Illusionrip returned with one gold and two silver trophies, Ana with one gold, Demon Color with one gold, and Kacpero with one silver demon. Eliash\'s diorama made the first cut into the finals, too. But we have something for you, too. We\'ve got a list of winners and pictures of all the winning entries, and even more pictures in the Golden Demon gallery. Check them out! The quality may not be the best possible but the limited time we (Przemas from Leprechaun Art Studio, and me - Mahon) had, allowed us to take these.

And if you return to our website you will find even more photos from the event, showing the participants, the backstage, the trophies, the pastimes the painters organized for themselves, and much more! We just need some time to upload these pictures to the gallery. And in the meantime ENJOY!!

looking forward to seeing some up close pics..hope everything went well and bodes well for the future of this event in a country that is gaining a bigger and bigger reputation within the hobby.

There are some cool looking entries there, things have definately come on at a pace in the Eastern European territories when it comes to mini painting. I\'ll reserve my critical judgement until I see photos that are a little crisper, but these give a good idea of the quality.

One thing though, I\'m pretty sure a couple of winners have also won prizes at other GD comps have they not? That seems a little bit iffy to me. Other than that, good stuff.

Nice!! Some good entries there!

The photos aren\'t bad at all, a quick trick that might work somewhat is to use a grey backdrop instead of a white for event photography.. especially if you use large amount of light. Even good cameras seem to get confused with too much white both with autofocus and how much detail it picks up. And it\'s also easier to set a correct exposure + any halo effect is removed.

@lono: Which one were you thinking of? I can\'t see any entry that has won anywhere else.

Ah, I\'m mistaken. It was Alex Holmen\'s one that stood out as a previous winner, but having just checked I see it didn\'t quite make it at German GD. The other one that I recognised was the 40k Squad, but I now remember that was when I worked at GW last year. The staff in NE Emerging Markets\' department broke the rules and entered it for Michael in the 2006 UK GD I think because he couldn\'t make it to the UK.

Having seen that one in the flesh I can say for sure it\'s a very nice and smooth job.

this time the photographers were also members of the jury, so the time for taking photos was pretty short.

now we understand why sometimes pics from GDs are not satisfactory....

but I think most of participants will post their own photos soon...
