Hi!
I wanna show You something. By project of painting Marcus Gideon from Reaper.:

the first one step.
1.jpg

the second one step.
2.jpg

The third one step.
3.jpg

Final effect.

Base was too big problem to paint it.
I used : Tablet, computer mouse, photoshop, natural colours are taken from real photos.
But why?
Some painters are useing photoshop to \'upgrade\' their minis, like lighting/shadeing, colours. So I\'ve done the same, but in \'higher\' level.

And it\'s still painted mini (6,5 is good resould as a fiction mini);)

What do You think about this one? That\'s the second one, unfortunatelly without steps.

I\'ve found this shaman on cmon, it has a cool staff. I\'ve changed colours of skin and wear, added a freehand and so one...

Each of this work took me about one hour - fast painting;).

Kill me!:)

Hmm, that\'s very nice in fact :)
Going to fiddle around a bit too, it would allow to test colour combinations without the hassle of stripping...

and your point is........?

(the reaper mini looks a little startled)

and I see you\'ve actually submitted these as regular mini\'s.........

few regulars on here who will be a little miffed.......but I guess that probably is your point

geez.... impressive... and scary at the same time :p

EDIT: Have to say the first mini it shows, but the second, the orc shaman, I can\'t see it.... I would recomend you stop submitting these though, or at least say so in the description.... we wouldn\'t want this to become a regular thing...

hmmm

you have actually made the orc shaman look worse in my opinion... so currently the painters are still winning

Hey! I voted and left a nice comment on your version of that mini, in full belief that you had painted it to look that good. This is taking it a bit too far. You must mention in the description, or that is just plain wrong!

But the mini is not painted? It is.
also is painting with airbrush a cheating? No.

Mini is painted in \'some other way\'

not painted

The mini is not painted.
The photograph is - at least if you assume \"painted\" doesn\'t actually require paint.

Anyway, you\'ve come clean. I have no problem with that.
I\'m personally fond of doing that sort of experiment - post something to see what happens then tell everyone what the experiment was.
Good for thought.

Don\'t even try to justify it like that :) Please... You won\'t win

Painting with Airbrush is not cheating, as you paint the mini IN REAL LIFE!

Nothing of what you do in Photoshop can you show off in real life, it is just a program that adds the colors as they are suposed to...

Could someone please show me all of those photoshopped minis, I\'m dying to see them.

Another true sign of jealousy. ;)

Painting a mini in photoshop requires skill too! Albeit skill of another kind. But miniature painting is about painting MINIATURES, not painting digital photos. The general idea is to have a painted mini that you can hold in your hand and look at directly. If someone wants to paint digital photos of minis it\'s ok by me, but I think they have lost the point with being involved in a mini painting community. Maybe they should seek out a digital art community instead? :]

good for you, you now have a worthless image of a painted mini with nothing for your time...instead of....say....a real painted mini. i refuse to even touch up a mini. its stupid. you are only cheating yourself. you are clearly creative however - now really paint them up with your own tools, not a computers automated ones.
